HOMEMADE DESSERT RECIPE

Chocolate Covered Strawberries are so good and really easy to make.

All you need are the strawberries and some of your favorite chocolate. You can use a double boiler to melt it but it is even easier to melt it in the microwave. You will need to line a cookie sheet with wax paper and make room in the refrigerator for the cookie sheet.
We have found that melting the chocolate in a pyrex measuring cup works best. If you melt it too fast and it gets too hot then it will seize up. The trick is to use 15 - 30 second intervals in the microwave until it is just melted. Take the measuring cup out in between each interval and stir until it's smooth.

If you would like to get fancy with your chocolate dipped strawberries, you can melt a small amount of white chocolate and using a toothpick, drizzle some over the strawberries like in the photo to the left.

Ingredients:
Small package of semisweet chocolate morsels or two of your favorite bars chopped into small pieces. Ghiradelli works well.
1 pound or more of Strawberries
Heat resistant measuring cup
Baking sheet
Wax Paper

Preparation:
  1. Melt chocolate in microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring each time.
  2. Dip Strawberries in about 3/4 of the way up.
  3. Let the excess drain off
  4. Place the Strawberry on a wax paper lined cookie sheet.
  5. After you have finished with all of them then place the cookie sheet into the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
